Dave Dietz

Dave has over 20 years of property and casualty insurance experience, most currently serving as the Vice President of Workers’ Compensation for State Auto Insurance Company.  In that role, Dave has led the integration of RTW, Inc. and State Auto’s Workers’ Compensation business and maintains P & L responsibility for the segment while overseeing Underwriting, Marketing, Product Management and liaising with Claims Operations.  He is also responsible for the company’s fee-for-service brand, Absentia.  Absentia delivers unbundled claims and case management services to other carriers, risk pools and self-insured employers.  Dave has been with State Auto and RTW, Inc. since July of 2002.

Prior to joining RTW / State Auto, Dave spent thirteen years in roles such as Underwriting Manager, Branch Vice President and Senior Vice President of Sales with TIG Insurance, EBI Companies and Benfield Group.

Dave is a cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, earning a B.B.A. with majors in Economics and Business Administration.

Amy Hawley

Amy Hawley is the Director of Operations for Absentia.  Amy earned a BSN degree at Bethel University in Minnesota with her nursing experience focused on trauma care.  She is a veteran of RTW , Inc. with 20 years of case management and senior leadership at the company.

Amy led the development and expansion of our nurse case management product nationally.   As Director of Absentia Operations, Amy now works closely with the Sales, Account Management and leads the Medical Service team to ensure quality medical management services and unsurpassed customer satisfaction, throughout the nation.  Amy lives with her husband Chris and four daughters in the St. Paul, Minnesota area.


Kelly Woolhouse

Kelly Woolhouse is the Director of Account Management for Absentia.  Kelly is a seasoned Account Management Professional with over 8 years of experience providing Account Management services to workers’ compensation customers.  In 2009, she was promoted to her current position as Director of Account Management.  Kelly is responsible for providing superior leadership to the account management team as well as directly assuring successful service delivery to our fortune 500 clients.

Kelly has been employed by RTW/Absentia since 1996.   Prior to her most recent responsibilities in Account Management, Kelly worked as a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager providing support, medical management program training and workers’ compensation guidance to injured employees and their employers.

Kelly has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.  She is a Registered Nurse and certificate holder of Miller Heiman’s Large Account Management Process.


Nathan Nelson

Nathan Nelson is the Director of Sales, Marketing and Alternative Products for Absentia, a national workers’ compensation fee-for-service organization based in Bloomington, Minnesota.  He joined Absentia in 2005 and has helped the company grow over 500% in that time.

Nathan sits on the RTW Leadership Team and his primary responsibilities include new customer development, alternative products management, client retention and expansions. He holds a B.A. in History from DePaul University (Cum Laude) and a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University (Magna Cum Laude).  Prior to joining RTW, Nathan worked for Nationwide Insurance and FiServ.
